The Canadian Museum of Rail Travel in Cranbrook is different from other railway museums which is a national award-winning museum.

Museum Special Events include the annual masquerade, the Canada day lunch and the pre-Christmas gala dinner.

The Canadian Museum of Rail Travel exhibits vintage "sets" known as "Deluxe Hotels-On-Wheels" from the 1880s to the 1930s, filled with exotic inlaid woods, stained & glass, plush carpets & upholstery.
