The history of Chinatown started in 1860 when Chinese people migrate to Canada to work in mines and railroads. Chinese people settled in Saint-Laurent Boulevard and have kept Asian culture alive through the district. The streets are crowded with shops selling different products like exotic foods, traditional crafts, martial arts accessories, herbs and natural medicines.
